|
|
Well I finally got this thing nailed down..
My new reed design.. Finally got my Punch back from the machinist made to the specs of my proto reed...
Its a little shorter to accomadate a few things I wanted..
It is the double sided reed on the left.. the standard reed that comes with my guts is in the center... One reason I shortened the reed was to allow it to fit inside the tabs on the call.. and also to let a little more sound clear the board.. but now everyone has the option of the quick tune reed or the 2 sided one... to many peoples amazment the tabs DO NOT matter on adjustability.. they simply align the quick tune reed in the right spot for those who like to have it a bit easier.. I will Now be able to offer FREE reeds, to those who have my calls.. thats right.. no charge... as many as you want.. just don;t go resellin em
and you might have noticed.... I jumped on board the Broken in Gut "BUS"
Yeah.. they are pretty nice.. they will only be 10$ a set..
These are not molded after some super cool guys guts.. but are broken in "custom" like one at a time, and are broken in to run with my reeds...

Mikey will the "broken in guts" just fit in your calls, or will they fit in most short reeds? _________________ Twin States Pro Staff

Excuse me for being so green on this. Why do I want broken in guts on my goose call. _________________ Contrary to Ordinary J.J.W.

I am sure someone way goosier than me will explain it better...
But you can get alot more range out of a set of guts set up like this.. more reed movement, and an incredible lower end..
| Mike Benjamin wrote: | vaccume?? |
Nope.. I burnt out a shop vac earlier this year trying it.. the reed moves too fast and just stands up on end, never really touches the tone channel enough to remove any material.. Tried it with a number of different materials for the reed.. IE, brass, aluminum.. ect... nothing really worked.. even tried to lower the speed of the vac...
Trade secret... I owe it to another callmaker, but we have a pact to take it to the grave... _________________ WWW.CSCUSTOMCALLS.COM

Mikey,
Sounds like a good idea to me. If I sent a Prophet down to you could you set the tone board and reed in place. Is it $10+ S/H or just $10?? _________________ Contrary to Ordinary J.J.W.

It's more custom than that. Would you really expect anything less from a guy who spends countless hours building this:
